Outdoor Kitchen designer blends Bricks with stone to mesh the perfect Outdoor Kitchen island

Living Fabulously outdoor kitchen designer shows us the beauty in meshing Brick and stone into this Outdoor grill island to match the pre existing homeowner built fireplace. A simple remedy was to put a band of brick on top of the existing fireplace and use the same brick and stone to accent the stone on the house to blend the textures of each while building the grill island  along the fireplace.  The eye catching focal is the brick backsplash that acts as a wind break and on the backside works with the sun catchers stone patio.

With space limitations, we decided to take the railings down and build up the masonry to position the Stone grill island at a raised level with the deck. This way here the space not only was maximized from the fireplace to the step up along the deck, the depth of the island reached out into the yard so it utilized space that was empty prior. Phase two will be on the opposite side of the deck to replace the wooden rail to build up a matching bar and beverage center to footprint the octagon shaped deck. A nice touch to allow food, fun and conversation.

Preferred Properties’ designer here creates this new space building an inviting  step down with sunken stone flagging patio.  The ledge of granite on the back side creates a bar and beverage ledge and also breaks up the height of the back splash

The blending of the brick and stone are brought to the top with the yellow river granite which also pulls the yellow stone from the fireplace. Although this isn’t my largest outdoor kitchen or action packed filled with amentities , this is by far a favorite of mine. With nine outdoor kitchens featured in Best Signature Outdoor kitchens featured annually, I would gladly offer this to the publisher as number ten. We will keep you posted.
